Shortrock has been the go-to DJ for in-studio work since day 1 at Uncommon Records. Coming on board Uncommon by joining The Presence he went on to create two classic early era mixtapes, Live @ Nasa Labs and The New Art Underground. He’s since laid down cuts for classic tracks from Uncommon Nasa, Short Fuze and many more. In recent years he’s completed a full project collaboration with Pastense and jumped on two tracks from Guilty Simpson’s Uncommon release, Escalation.
A mad scientist behind the tables, Shortrock’s style is experimental - not as a style choice, but as a means of literally experimenting his contribution towards a track until it’s complete. A Dj that brings a true musicality and connection to percussion with his cuts, Shortrock has always been a few steps ahead of most djs heard in the underground hip-hop world.
Produced by Uncommon Nasa and released independently in 2016, Pastense & Shortrock bring 5 tracks to this EP. Good Will Cutting has just been re-issued digitally by Uncommon Records and these CDs come from some warehouse stock of the original release. Original artwork on the cover is by John Tracey and the CD comes in a cardboard sleeve.
*The digital streaming and Bandcamp DL (see below) include a newly re-mastered version that includes all of the Uncommon Nasa produced instrumentals. This CD is from the original pressing and only includes the 5 original versions of the tracks that make up the EP.
